Infonium CEO Jay Lawrence is the proud recipient of an Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award. Jay is one of forty individuals who best represent the dynamic entrepreneurial and community spirit that make up Ottawa's business community in 2009. Nominees as diverse as high-tech entrepreneurs, restaurant owners and real-estate developers are evaluated using three criteria: career accomplishments, professional expertise, and community & charitable involvement. Jay comments, "I am truly flattered and honoured to receive this award. Infonium has been built by an outstanding team of committed staff and knowledgeable advisors and this award is a reflection of their tremendous contributions."
Infonium develops enterprise software for the Canadian healthcare industry, dramatically improving accountability evaluation and reporting for health system users and administrative efficiency within hospitals. As founder and CEO of Infonium, Jay has facilitated the doubling in growth of the company - from number of employees to annual revenue - in the space of just one year.
Jay is a member of the Ottawa West Rotary Club, Ottawa TEC (Chief Executives Working Togetther), OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation) and the Community Foundation of Ottawa's Engage program. Jay is also an active supporter of Little Voice Big Sound, an arts and culture based organization that provides recognition and exposure to emerging Ottawa artists, actors, dancers and musicians, while raising awareness on key social issues such as food and famine, conflict and war and gender rights. As a former board member for the Hintonburg Community Association, Jay supports various community activities and events throughout the year, including the annual ArtsPark urban village fair.
A spectacular gala was held on June 25 at the Hilton Lac Leamy. Jay was accompanied to the event by his parents, Bob and Margaret Lawrence of Regina, Saskatchewan, as well as by close friends and advisory team.
